Cousins, Kites, and Pie!

So we are so happy to be finally getting some nice weather to go outside and play in. Mckel called and wanted us to go to lunch and to the park to fly some kites. We went and had lunch at Sizzler and the kids were thrilled. They are really into the salad bar buffet type deal. They think it is great when you can have pizza, mac n cheese and nachos all in the same meal! Oh if it were always that simple. After lunch we went to the Discovery Park in Pleasant Grove. The kids had a ball playing with their cousins on the playground. After a while we attempted to fly kites. Keyword in that phrase attempted. The wind just didn't want to come out and play. We did manage to get them up a few times but you had to stay running to keep them up. After the kite flying we made our way to one of the pavilions where a former patient of Candace's was having a pie fundraiser to raise money for EB. They neede and auctioneer so we volunteered Phil. Little did we know he could auction like he could. He did a dang good job. It was funny to watch. Oh how we will never again hear the phrase Heidi-Ho without laughing! After Phil finished his auctioneer duties we were getting ready to leave and Ginka gave Dax some money to buy a pie to throw in Phil's face. Phil being the good sport agreed to it and Dax thought it was the greatest thing ever. His smile and giggle were priceless. He wasn't smiling so much afterwards when dad gave him a big kiss! It was a fun day out in the sun with the cousins! We are looking forward to many more to come!
