So after the terrible earthquake in Haiti we decided to use it as an opportunity to teach our kids a little lesson on service. We are always telling our kids how spoiled they are and how much they have and I think this helped them to realize they do have so much. Us with the help of a few of our good friends sent out fliers to collect donations to make hygiene kits to send to Haiti. We were in awe at the response that we got. We were hoping to put together 50 or 60 kits and when all was said and done we completed 200. The kids were so excited to do this and could not quit talking about the people in Haiti. It was a great experience for us all and we are already looking for our next project. After we had our kits ready we scheduled an appointment at the Church Humanitarian Center so our kids could see how it works. It was a great night and a great experience for everyone. I hope my kids learned a valuable lesson about how blessed we are and how important it is to serve others. We were even lucky enough to have this experience become a little more real for us having my brother spend two weeks in Haiti. They were in need of some Pediatric Doctors and he got the call. My kids focus became that much stronger knowing that Uncle Aaron was there. I hope this helped them develop a love and appreciation for those who are not as fortunate as we are. There is no greater experience than serving those in need.

Amazing! It's so important for them to learn these things while they are young. Hopefully service will come naturally as we try our best to provide opportunities for the kids to serve.
