Stratton Ear Surgery - Take Two!

Well they say the third time is a charm but in our case we are really hoping that the second time is a charm. Stratton had another ear surgery today. He had tubes put in about a year ago. He has been miserable since. Come to find out a bacteria had gotten in his ear from the tube and had cause his tube to block and a thick sticky puss has been sitting in his ear because it can not get out of the blocked tube. They went in and removed his old set of tubes cleaned out his ear and put a new set of tubes in. He was a champ. The surgery went well and pretty fast. We did have to wait a little bit and he did not like that. All he could say was Mama go. We walked the halls of same day surgery for a while. He was good as long as we were walking. Once they brought him out of surgery he was a little groggy and mad but seemed to calm down when they brought him some apple juice. Papa even paid us a surprise visit. Stratton wanted off of my lap and onto Papa's. We were waiting to be discharged and Stratton was just mad. Nothing would calm him down. They were bringing him toys and juice but nothing would work. Finally I said to the nurse, I think he wants his hospital name tag off. She let me cut it off and then he was fine. It just fits him doesn't it. This name band that shouldn't even phase him but boy he was going to make life miserable until he got it off!! It is a good thing he is so dang cute or we might just have to give him away!! So he did great and we are glad it is over. Now we will just hope that it works and he can finally have a good nights sleep without all that discomfort!!
